Recover Uror's Shears before the Cult of Ragnarok
open
The Norn shears — Uror's Shears, said to cut anything and then return to the Norns after a single use — were stolen from Speaker Danneth's office by the one-armed Fang Finulf One-Hand, who cached them in the William Moon barrow. The Cult of Ragnarok / Church of Inexorable Ruin, under Thrynne the Black, wants them to shear the mythic Chaos Wolf awake so it devours the sun. The party has caught up with Finulf One-Hand inside the barrow and are jointly fighting off cult reinforcements. Roadie's proposed endgame: use the shears once — on a rope, on nothing important — so they vanish back to the Norns and the cult never gets them.
Get a bag of holding big enough for Enjee's drum kit
open
The White Lady pointed Enjee to two shops for a drum-kit-sized bag of holding: Triglio in Targos and Ewan's Trinkets in Bremen.
Investigate Kerr Koenig the corpse — a place where spirits yearn to rock
open
The White Lady's answer to Dreadie's question about places in the land where 'the spirits yearn to rock' was: 'Kerr Koenig, the corpse.' No further context yet.
Meet Thrynne the Black's contact at High Plume Station
open
The interrogated cultist confessed under torture that the shears were to be delivered to a contact in a white tunic at High Plume Station — one of the new geothermal way-stations that have popped up over the past year as rifts opened in the ice.
Investigate Argent Hall (Enjee's cylindrical stone)
open
A cloaked courier slid a stone cylinder to Enjee at the Big Fat Knucklehead; the coordinates triangulate to Argent Hall, an old moon-stronghold in the Spine of the World taken from the Duergar generations back, with a Selenite temple on-site. Kaldur recognized it immediately as tied to his king and his king's old friends. Who wanted Enjee sent there, and why, is unknown.
Hunt down the Cold-handed Man (Sifos Cifik)
open
A man rumored around East Haven as the 'Cold-handed Man' — real name Sifos Cifik — has been snatching people and sacrificing them to a cold winter entity in the old Aurel style. Attempted to drag Samantha out into the killing cold from the Wet Trout mid-gig; Kaldur and Roadie broke through a window and rescued her but he escaped. He leaves a cool-hand-shaped scar of dead flesh on his victims.
Expose and dismantle the Children of Splintered Ice
open
The band wiped the Children-of-Splintered-Ice tower cell on the northwestern shore (Felith and two cultist-ambushers dead, one tower-top jumper intimidated to death by Scales) and uncovered a signed hit list implicating 'Ice Knife' as the East Haven cell master. 'Ice Knife' is Nemitra, the silver-dragonborn owner of the Wet Trout, who was arrested on the spot by Captain Argiloth. The cult serves Cryonax (not Aurel). Scope beyond East Haven — and the Cold-handed Man's exact relationship to the cell — remains open.
Recover Dzan's simulacrum and crack his lair
open
Before Dzan was burned, he gave up the location of his lair — under the Lucky Liar inn in Lonelywood. His simulacrum is somewhere in the frozen tundra, guarded by a wight; recovering the simulacrum is the only way into the lair. Lonelywood is on the route past Termalane, so the party plans to pick up Kaldur's Dumathoin gem-mine lead (Termalane) and the Lucky Liar lair on the same loop.
Deal with Dreadwurst and Lich Brisket
open
Roadie's old band — Lich Brisket, a Limp-Bizkit-styled band fronted by a lich called Dreadwurst — went full necromancy at Bloodstock '99 and burned the 'non-nookie compliant' crowd alive. Roadie quit. Dreadwurst didn't take it well. Last session's hallucinated Adidas-hooligans turn out to have been real undead Lich-Brisket agents; one of them handed Roadie a cursed guitar pick mid-gig and briefly took him over. Roadie plans to use Uror's Shears to behead Dreadwurst.
Investigate Dugan's Hell
open
Dugan's Hole, roughly south of East Haven, has been overrun by an unknown cult. Signs on the road now warn travelers off, with locals crossing out 'Hole' and writing 'Hell.' Rico has publicly committed the band to 'putting the Hole back in Hell.'
Travel to Skaldholm for Fenrir lore
open
Dzan named Skaldholm — an island west of the Purple Rocks — as the single richest source of Skald lore about Fenrir and the chains of Gleipnir. Very far from Icewind Dale, almost certainly a late-campaign destination, but now on the map.
Investigate the Caer Dineval keep and the sick Speaker
open
Rourke the barkeep at the Uphill Climb warned the band that the Speaker of Caer Dineval has 'taken ill' and is now surrounded by a dozen soldiers wielding black swords operating as a private militia at the keep. Everyone in town is quietly spooked and no one knows what the militia's agenda is. Kaldur and Roadie noted it; the party did not investigate this session.
Hunt down the last Sunblight Duergar
open
The 'ghosts' at Denev's Rest were in fact the last remnants of the Sunblight clan — Deep-Duergar that Kaldur's uncle had thought wiped out generations back. The band killed most of them in Denev's Rest but one Soul Blade turned invisible and jumped out a window at the end of the fight. Kaldur plans to track him through the clan-engraved gold the Duergar left behind — a diviner may be able to use it as a focus.
Find Bot Withers
closed
Bot Withers was found frozen aboard his keelboat on the northwestern shore, with a six-pointed snowflake carved into his forehead — a Cryonax sacrifice sign, not Aurel's. The party brought his body back to East Haven; the harbormaster paid out a 100 gp bounty (split 20 gp each). Captain Argiloth offered to deliver the news to his widow Vi personally.
Play the public burning of Dzan the Red Wizard
closed
Performed as the band's biggest show so far — the East Haven prison yard, roughly 200 people. Dreadie persuaded Captain Argiloth to make it a double burning by adding the prisoner William O. Cosby to the second pyre. The band harmonized their set to both prisoners' screams, Cosby's charisma-13 helping with the harmony and Dzan pre-ketamined (then cocaine-blasted) by Roadie for stage reasons. The band crit the gig and Havel reports gigs now pouring in across the Ten Towns.
Investigate the shrunken-Duergar hole in the East Haven ferry
closed
The suspicious hull-hole Kaldur spotted last session was indeed a Mind-Master Duergar entry port. The Duergar came out mid-crossing, got chopped in half by Kaldur, and the hole was mended on-site by Roadie after Dreadie's miscast Thunderwave made it worse. The band also looted the Duergar's rune-dagger.
Loose ends 29
Speaker Danneth is compromised. He owns a shardalyn statue that whispers 'the awakened one lies below,' bought 'Urogears' from a raided burial mound with town funds via the shady Red Dragon Trading Company of Luskan, and his basement is suspiciously empty. Something is being awakened that the party has not yet found.

Prudence' true nature. Moon-crescent sash, unnaturally calm around corpses, highwayman background — Rico's insight says she is far more than the speaker's scribe.

Ambassador Therindrel of Waterdeep of the Blackstaff was drugged, publicly humiliated, and stripped naked in the snow by the band — then tracked them down mid-Town-Hall-raid and tried to Polymorph Rico for it. The spell failed, but Therindrel of Waterdeep made it out; he now knows the party by sight and Waterdeep may well hear about the whole affair.

'Thrynne the Black' vs. 'Threnndil the Blackstaff.' Kaldur noted the cult leader's name sounds suspiciously like the Blackstaff-adjacent ambassador they just roofied. The captured cultist claimed they are not the same person, but the party is not convinced.

Dzan the Red Wizard and 'Zlan.' Dzan was arrested trying to awaken something called Zlan. He is due to burn at the party's next gig — and Roadie has just realized what he agreed to stage.

'Poor Scar,' another Fang of Vanagander, is still somewhere out in the barrow's tunnels — separated from Finulf One-Hand and possibly in danger from the incoming cultists.

The band still has no agreed name. Contenders after this session: Men of Moonlight (Rico), Scales the Band (floated at the White Lady Inn — unclear source), Succubus Kiss (Rico), Nuts in the Snow (Enjee), Chaos Wolf (post-interrogation favorite, spelled with a Q).

William Moon's true nature. Dreadie's read: 'Pretty sure he's Loki.' He rewrites his own tenets in real time, casts a shadow with horns, told Dreadie the fate of Toro depends on this specific band, and openly admitted to banging a horse. Rico is fully converted; Dreadie is infiltrating; Enjee, Kaldur, Roadie, and Scales all refused.

Kostov's strange pause. Kaldur's insight during the sarcophagus-chamber fight caught Kostov the Ratatouille pausing oddly whenever he named-dropped William Moon. He handed the shears to Roadie unprompted and booked the band gigs in Port Last and Baldur's Gate — his motives are not established.

The 'Cold-handed Man' and Aurel. The Cold-handed Man is sacrificing people to a cold entity 'like they used to do for Aurel' — and Aurel, per the same tavern hearsay, was killed years back by 'a gnome with a giant cock' (Wazzy?), incinerated at the Black Cabin and reborn in Phoenix fire. What Aurel actually is/was, and what cold thing is now receiving the sacrifices, is open.

The Wet Trout hooligans — dead or a bad trip. Roadie hallucinated undead hooligans in sequined Adidas tracksuits charging the stage; Scales did detect real traces of undead footprints in Adidas shoes on the stage after the show. Nobody has explained the overlap.

Icewind Dale's lost great power. Nemitra the Wet Trout owner told Scales, kinsman-to-kinsman, that 'Icewind Dale was once a seat of great power and we have felt its loss acutely,' then would not elaborate.

Uror's Shears — held, not delivered. Finulf handed the shears to Roadie; Kostov endorsed the party keeping them. The plan remains Roadie's from last session: cut something inconsequential (a rope) so they vanish back to the Norns and the cult never sees them. Nobody has done it yet.

Band name settled — sort of. Rico publicly announced the band as 'Chaos Wolf' at the Wet Trout, spelled Q-H-A-O-S V-U-L-F. Kaldur and Roadie have not vetoed it. Scales tried 'Scales the Band' one more time and was overruled.

Dreadwurst the Lich and Roadie's old band Lich Brisket. The pick of the undead-Adidas-hooligan is a leash; Roadie transformed into a Dreadwurst-flavored undead guitarist for an entire solo at the burning gig and then reverted. Dreadwurst wants Roadie back in the fold. Roadie wants Uror's Shears pointed at Dreadwurst's neck.

The second guitar at the burning gig. Only Enjee's bat familiar and Kaldur noticed something was wrong onstage; the crowd never did. If witnesses connect Roadie-shredding-undead to the earlier Adidas-hooligan sightings, the band's reputation could take a sharp lich-adjacent turn.

Captain Argiloth has Nemitra in custody but has not yet interrogated her publicly; her cult hierarchy above 'Ice Knife' and her relationship (if any) to the Cold-handed Man are unknown.

The cold entity is Cryonax, not Aurel. The Cold-handed Man's snowflake-grip and the Children-of-Splintered-Ice forehead-snowflake sacrifices both match the Cryonax sign Rico pulled off Bot Withers' forehead. The 'they used to do it for Aurel' hearsay from last session was a decoy — someone, somewhere, is reviving the Frostfell rite under a different name.

Dzan's simulacrum is loose somewhere in the frozen tundra, guarded by a wight, holding full spell slots. If the party doesn't reach it first, there's nothing stopping someone else from doing the same.

The Thrynne/Threnndil / High-Plume-Station handoff is now stale — the shears were never delivered, Kostov endorsed keeping them, and Roadie wants to use them on Dreadwurst. The cult's High-Plume contact is presumably still waiting.

The Caer Dineval keep situation. The town's Speaker is 'ill,' a private militia of a dozen soldiers in black swords is now the only authority at the Caer, and the town is openly scared. The band has not gone up the hill to check.

The one Sunblight Duergar who escaped. He turned invisible mid-combat and fled through a window from the top floor of Denev's Rest. The band has clan-marked gold he came from and a plan to find a diviner to track him with it.

Caer Dineval has been irreversibly cream-pied. Roadie's cocaine-and-beer-fueled 'exorcism' turned the entire town's adult population into a feral mob that beat a militia man to death, tore Duergar apart with bare hands, and included an eleven-year-old boy named Timmy chewing on a dead Deep-Duergar. The town will remember.

Roadie had a second Lich-Brisket relapse — stared at an unseen figure in the crowd, shredded a Dreadwurst-flavored solo, dropped the bone pick Dreadie offered as a test, then quietly circled back and took a Duergar's head to reverse-engineer their soul-weapon craft into a magic pick for Rico. Kaldur caught the whole thing. Nobody has confronted Roadie about it.

Scales' real voice. The Duke-Nukem drawl was a years-old throat injury Dreadie Cure-Wounds-ed out as a wet red lump. Scales' real voice is a thick Louisanna accent from a tiny two-founder town called Lewis-Anna. His backstory, which has been largely scenery to this point, is now one healing spell closer to the surface.
