Only Bards

Foes fought and yet to face

Legendary Creatures 2

The Chaos Wolf (Vanagander) The Chaos Wolf (Vanagander) alive Ragnarok-tier world-devouring beast Legendary beast that the cult intends to wake with Uror's Shears. Prophecy: it will devour the sun. Not yet encountered — the party's active goal is to prevent it from ever being sheared.
Dreadwurst alive Lich frontman of Lich Brisket — Roadie's former bandleader A lich who fronts Lich Brisket, a Limp-Bizkit-styled band most notorious for burning the 'non-nookie compliant' crowd alive at Bloodstock '99. Roadie was their rhythm guitarist and quit; Dreadwurst has been trying to get him back ever since. Operates through undead Adidas-tracksuit agents and cursed guitar picks that briefly re-inhabit the holder as a Dreadwurst-shredder version of themselves. Has not yet appeared in person.
Session notes
Session 4: We Didn't Start the Fire

First named this session. Confirmed as the author of last session's 'Adidas-hooligan' sightings — his agents are real, not Roadie's hallucination. One of them handed Roadie a guitar pick mid-gig at the East Haven double burning; Roadie transformed, played the solo, dropped the pick, and reverted. Afterwards named Dreadwurst to the band and announced his intended counter: 'I got some shears, I'll cut his fucking head off.'

Unique Enemies 5

Thrynne the Black alive Cult leader — Church of Inexorable Ruin / Cult of Ragnarok The unseen leader the cultists serve. Doctrine of 'harmony, the stillness of nothing.' Named suspiciously close to 'Threnndil,' making Kaldur wonder if there is a connection to the Blackstaff-adjacent Ambassador Therindrel of Waterdeep the party just drugged. Spelled T-H-R-Y-N-N.
Session notes
Session 2: Shearing the Wolf

Named this session by the interrogated cultist. Not yet encountered. His agent is expected at High Plume Station in a white tunic to receive the shears.

Bolgrim Borskar dead Cult of Ragnarok cell leader — boar-scarred, longsword, hide armor Cult of Ragnarok cell leader, heavily scarred by an old boar attack; wielded a longsword and wore hide armor. Led the second wave inside the William Moon barrow, called the party 'bystanders,' offered them a chance to hand over Finulf without dying, and got Kaldur's terrible-deception 'no' in return.
Session notes
Session 3: By the Power of William Moon

[2026-09-29-by-the-power-of-william-moon] Introduced and killed the same session. Kostov the Ratatouille cracked jokes about the boar all through the fight ('a fucking pig gave you all those scars'). Dreadie kept Heat Metal on his longsword, giving him disadvantage on every attack, and Kaldur's tanked-through defense held the doorway. The finishing blow came from the fog-cloud melee where 'every swing is killing.'

The Cold-handed Man (Sifos Cifik) alive Serial abductor sacrificing East Haven locals to Cryonax See lore entry for details. Not seen this session, but his cold-sacrifice rite was conclusively identified this session with the six-pointed snowflake sign of Cryonax — the same sign carved into Bot Withers' forehead — rather than Aurel.
Session notes
Session 4: We Didn't Start the Fire

Reclassified from Aurel-revivalist to Cryonax-sacrificer this session on the strength of Bot Withers' forehead-snowflake match. His exact relationship to the Children of Splintered Ice is still unknown; the party has not yet established whether he is a cell member, a freelancer working the same deity, or something stranger.

Session 3: By the Power of William Moon

[2026-09-29-by-the-power-of-william-moon] Attempted to drag Samantha out through the Wet Trout during the noon gig; Kaldur smashed through a window and Roadie chased on foot. He escaped into the snow. The party knows his name, his method (freezing hand-mark) and his rumored purpose (sacrifice to a cold entity, Aurel-style).

Felith dead Children-of-Splintered-Ice spy — bait-and-switch dagger specialist A Children-of-Splintered-Ice spy who worked bait-and-switch — allowed herself to be found bound and gagged as a 'tiefling prisoner' to lure rescuers into melee range, then produced a frozen blade from the folds of her cloak. AC 12 (she was dressed as a prisoner, not armored for it). Carried spy-adjacent proficiencies in deception and insight, no athletics or acrobatics.
Session notes
Session 4: We Didn't Start the Fire

Introduced and killed this session. Buried a dagger in Rico's back the moment he untied her, then was quadruple-grappled by Roadie and chain-locked in place. Rico true-struck a Moon-Bolt crossbow bolt through her face while she was still chained; she died at AC-12 range with no cover.

Nemitra ('Ice Knife') dead East Haven cell master of the Children of Splintered Ice Silver-dragonborn owner of the Wet Trout, exposed this session as 'Ice Knife' — the Children-of-Splintered-Ice contact who signed sacrifice-target lists in her own hand. See the Characters entry for her non-combat profile. Currently in East Haven prison under Captain Argiloth.
Session notes
Session 4: We Didn't Start the Fire

Arrested at the Wet Trout by Captain Argiloth on the strength of her own signed hit list. Did not resist. Her cell leadership above her, and her relationship (if any) to the Cold-handed Man, are not yet known.

Monsters 5

Cult of Ragnarok raider White-robed cultist mook — spiral tattoo on forehead, spiral-carved cudgel, some carry crossbows or short bows Rank-and-file cultists of the Church of Inexorable Ruin. Wear white robes with spiral-carved cudgels; a spiral is tattooed on their forehead. Fanatical — the interrogated captive would rather have his teeth knocked out than answer, until Roadie soft-talked him.
Session notes
Session 3: By the Power of William Moon

[2026-09-29-by-the-power-of-william-moon] The larger contingent tracked into the barrow last session finished dying this session across two waves inside the barrow — including the Gillitrut-troll wave and Bolgrim Borskar's cell. Kills went to Enjee (Sorcerous Bursts), Kaldur (fog-cloud melee, wide-armed doorway defense), Scales (spear through the heart), and Rico (chaos-wolf-scream greatsword swing on the last standing cultist). The party did not deliver Uror's Shears to the promised High Plume Station contact.

Session 2: Shearing the Wolf

First cell of five raided East Haven's Town Hall this session — the party killed four, slept two, and grappled one for interrogation. A larger contingent (roughly 16 by Kaldur's tremorsense count) is now closing in on the party inside the William Moon barrow; the first reinforcement was killed by Rico's thrown javelin.

Gillitrut Troll Troll-dog with standard troll regeneration; fire stops the regen A troll-wolf-dog hybrid. Barks weirdly, bites hard enough to bear prone with a single hit. Regenerates from any non-fire damage. Recognizable by ear to anyone with wilderness sense — Enjee called it on first bark.
Session notes
Session 3: By the Power of William Moon

[2026-09-29-by-the-power-of-william-moon] Waded into the party in the outer corridor of the William Moon barrow. Nearly killed Rico ('guts spilling, bones cracking, fugue state'). Enjee kept fire on it via Sorcerous Burst until the regeneration failed; the party spit-roasted it between Rico's greatsword and Scales' spear; Enjee's finishing Sorcerous Burst dropped it. Party harvested troll skin (DC 10) for a potion-of-longevity ingredient before the 48-hour freshness window closed.

Mind-Master Duergar Psychic Duergar — enlarge/reduce + mind-mastery + runic dagger Mind-Master Duergar: can shrink down to climb through hidden hull-holes, enlarge in combat, and uses an ooga-booga mind-mastery save (DC 12 Intelligence save) to force a target to attack an ally. Standard loadout is a runic psychic dagger (d6 psychic for a non-Duergar, 3d6 for a Shonuf Deep-Duergar worshipper).
Session notes
Session 4: We Didn't Start the Fire

The specific Duergar who had been squatting in the East Haven ferry hull was fought and killed below decks this session. He stabbed Dreadie in the crotch for 18 damage (dick split in twain), mind-mastered Rico into a 13-damage swing at Scales, and tried to shrink back through his bolt-hole after taking a Steinhardt teleport-slash from Scales. Kaldur chopped him in half with the battle axe mid-escape. Dreadie keeps his rune-dagger.

Children of Splintered Ice Cryonax cultist mook — snowflake tattoos, cold daggers, serve 'Ice Knife' Rank-and-file Children of Splintered Ice. Snowflake tattoo on the wrist. Short swords and cold-forged daggers that don't radiate magic unless keyed to the cult. Fanatical — 'if I die, I am to the Frostfell where my essence will be preserved.' Operate under single-word cell names handed down from above.
Session notes
Session 4: We Didn't Start the Fire

The East Haven cell's tower on the northwestern shore was wiped this session. Three cultists plus their lead spy Felith died in the tower fight; the last member jumped from the fourth story mid-interrogation. The cell above them — the leadership that signs off on 'Ice Knife's' kill lists — remains active.

Sunblight Duergar Deep-Duergar clan remnants squatting in abandoned Caer Dineval structures — mix of Mind Masters and Soul Blades The surviving pocket of the Sunblight clan, hiding out in Denev's Rest and maintaining its haunted-abandoned appearance to keep locals away. Hunting ground: Caer Dineval. Includes at least one Mind-Master Duergar (DC-12 Intelligence save mind-mastery, enlarge/reduce, 3d6 psychic rune-dagger for a Shonuf worshipper) and multiple Soul Blades (not very smart, can turn invisible, manifest or stab-ready blades, surprise ambush specialists). Their treasure stash was clan-marked gold under a dart-trapped hollow floorboard: 340 gp, 620 sp (ale sales), four garnets, two polished black onyx, a mithril ingot, a potion of growth, a potion of invisibility, a bag of mystery alchemical dust, and a +1 ceremonial war pick engraved with Deep-Duergar iconography.

Session 5: Makes House Party look like House Party 2

Wiped as a cell this session in Denev's Rest. Kaldur recognized them on scent and declared the fight a Gravelgut-vs-Sunblight bloodline operation. Three Soul Blades plus one Mind Master died in the fight (speared by Scales, chopped by Kaldur, mobbed by the coked crowd, pushed into the mob by Roadie). One Soul Blade turned invisible and escaped through a top-floor window. The Gravelgut clan now considers the Sunblight hunt actively re-opened.
